Mastic for parquet

It would seem that very recently you bought a stylish parquet , but the flooring has already lost its brilliant decorativeness and looks dim. Similar nuances of some owners cause panic and bewilderment, they begin to complain about unscrupulous producers and cunning sellers. But such troubles will bypass you if you use special fluids designed to protect and maintain the floor in good condition. In addition, the mastic for parquet cleaning has another unique quality, it is able to update the brightness of the old coating, giving it a perfect appearance after restoration .

What are the mastics for parquet processing:

  1. Water-soluble mastic.
  2. This liquid is suitable for dense wood species, resistant to moisture, so they are most often used for oak boards. For a floor from another wood, it is better to make the mortar more viscous, and parquet from birch or beech with similar compositions is better not to process at all.

  3. Wax mastic for parquet.
  4. Compositions with wax can be used to protect or renew parquet from most types of wood. This substance has a good quality to give the floor covering excellent shine, which has been used for a long time in the design. But one should remember the important thing - wax mastics are undesirable to mix with turpentine, if the parquet is spread with bitumen glue.

  5. Water emulsion mastics.
  6. The mastic is supplied in pasty, solid or liquid form. They include fragrances, wax, bactericidal components and polymers. All these substances contribute to cleaning the surface of dirt and giving it a primordial appearance. It is necessary to study the instruction, where always not only the concentration of the solution is indicated, but also the types of wood that can be treated with this solution.

  7. Turpentine mastic for parquet.
  8. The main difference between this solution and previous types of mastics is that you do not need to use water to dilute it. It comes fully finished and is great for boards made of beech and birch, which is very afraid of moisture.

Mastic for laying parquet

Earlier the widest distribution was bituminous hot mastic, which is relatively inexpensive and therefore it was used everywhere. But similar compounds are increasingly used in construction. They have to constantly warm up, otherwise the bars are glued to the defect. An alternative is the purchase of cold mastics, prepared on the basis of bitumen, diluted in gasoline. In addition to these components, they include rosin, coniferous mineral fillers (chalk or lime). Because of the difficulties in work and environmental problems, many people try to replace such compositions with PVA-based or polyvinyl acetate-based emulsion adhesives (Parketolit and others).
