Magnetic Separator

Since childhood, everyone knows that the harvest of cereals is corn. Getting flour is a time-consuming and time-consuming process. And before the flour gets to the shops and bakeries, the grain passes through a lot of processing. For one of them, a magnetic separator is needed, a special device for a very important stage of processing. Every single ton of wheat , rye and other grain passes through the equipment. So, what is needed for a magnetic separator is what will be discussed.

Magnetic separator - the principle of operation

When harvesting, grain often contains small metal particles such as chips, chips, minerals, scales, parts of a nail, etc. Because of the extreme small size in a conventional grain cleaning separator, such particles are not able to completely separate. That is why the grain must be subjected to treatment and magnetic separator.

Before reaching the flour-milling industry, the grain is thoroughly cleaned from various impurities, which in no case should fall into baking. This is regulated by technological standards.

Provide the population with high-quality grain raw materials is impossible without the use of magnetic separators for grain cleaning. The principle of operation of the device is based on the effect of a magnetic field on particles possessing a magnetic susceptibility. A magnetic field is created in the apparatus turned on. If it gets into it, the grain with impurities is divided into two channels. One passes the purified raw material, and in the other, the metal-containing particles are eliminated under the action of attraction.

As a rule, a magnetic separator for a grain is an overall device with a metal casing. In the upper part of it there is a special receiving hatch, where the feeding of grain takes place. In the inner part of the separator box are placed magnets, rod, drum or in the form of a plate. The intensity of the magnetic field can be adjusted depending on which grain is being cleaned and for what purpose.

Types of magnetic separators for grain

Today in specialized trading floors you can find different types of magnetic separators for grain cleaning. Mostly they are separated by size. Small-sized devices suitable for personal use and small farms, which can easily be transported to another place. On a production scale, powerful separators are used, which differ in their size and weight.

Also, the distinction of aggregates follows the principle of work. The drum, or cylindrical, magnetic separator feeds the grain to the driven drum. The magnetic element is fixed inside the drum. When the drum moves, the grain is fed into the output compartment, and the particles are deflected and transferred to a separate container.

In the plate separators for grain, the magnet is located on the flap door in the form of rectangular ribs. When sprinkled on the door, the grain sinks into the exit hatch, and the particles stay on the magnetic plates. Such magnetic separators are installed in large-scale production. Feeding and sampling of grain takes place through pipes of large diameter, mounted to the separator.

Another type of magnetic separators are rod separators. They are a frame in which the magnets are horizontally mounted in the form of tubes in several rows and in staggered order. On top of the frame is installed a cross-section, where the grain freely enters. Thus, the magnetic field will completely cover the zone of grain drop, and this means that the metal-containing impurities will become trapped on the magnets.
