Lujan Zoo

In Argentina , in one of the suburbs of Buenos Aires , is the most unusual zoo in the world - Luhan (ZOO Lujan). Here you can not only watch the life of wild animals, but also communicate closely with them.

Interesting facts about the zoo

Luhan is noticeably different from other zoos, and that's why:

  1. There are no bans for visitors. Everyone can enter the cage to a tiger or a lion, a cheetah or a bear to feed the animal, take photos with him, pat and even kiss. Representatives of felines here are paid a lot of attention.
  2. At the Luhan Zoo, animals are brought up from the birth by trainers, who follow a uniform distribution of food and teach them to distinguish between food and human hands. Animals have no struggle for food, they are always well fed, so the instinct of a "predator" does not develop with them. They also grow with domestic cats and dogs and learn from them to trust and make friends with people. For these reasons zoo pets quietly admit visitors to themselves and behave with them peacefully, without aggression.
  3. One of the main factors of visitors' confidence is the fact that the Lujan Zoo was opened in 1994, and there have not been any accidents during its entire operation. Besides predators, camels, elephants, various parrots, iguanas and other mammals live on the territory of the institution. There is a swimming pool, which was built for fur seals, but they did not use it. Now tourists can refresh themselves and swim during the excursion.
  4. One of the facts that adds adrenaline to visitors is that before entering the cage all visitors sign a contract where it is said that the administration does not bear any responsibility for the life of tourists. Animals should always be approached from behind, behave calmly and do not make sudden movements.
  5. If you come to the Luhan Zoo with children, they can also be allowed to adult predators, but it's best to go to the enclosure where the animals are kept. Those who dream of personally feeding the mammals, will be offered a choice of a bunch of grapes for bears or milk from a bottle for tigers.
  6. In each cell, along with the beasts, there are several people: two trainers per predator, cleaners and a photographer. By the way, the latter makes simply stunning pictures, which later sends tourists to e-mail. Employees of the zoo also monitor the emotional state of animals, if necessary give them a break, and also distract their attention from visitors.
  7. The admission ticket costs 400 Argentine pesos (approximately $ 50). The institution operates daily at 9:00 and until 18:00 hours. Very often near the cells with predators, there are queues, especially a lot of people here gather during feeding. Consider this fact when planning a trip. If you wish, you can take a tent with you and stay overnight at the territory of the Luhan Zoo.

How to get to the place?

The zoo is located 80 km from the capital of Argentina, in the city of Lujan . From Buenos Aires you can get here by bus number 57 from the Plaza of Italy (the journey time is about two hours). From the stop, you will need to walk a little (about 10 minutes).
