It turns out that the WFFT rescue center, where emergency medical care is provided to animals, recently received two new patients - the giant tortoise Leonardo, rescued from the zoo of Bangkok, and the calf Simon with a severe leg injury.

And if the first was simple enough rehabilitation after unbearable conditions in the former place of stay, the baby Simon had even to have surgery and learn to walk on a prosthesis!
Well, this is the giant tortoise of Leonardo!
"We put the calf in a special open-air enclosure located within the center of the WFFT, where it would be more comfortable for him to recover after a heavy test," staff members share their memories. "And then Simon had to go to the field where two other rescued calves already graze , but ... "
Yes, it did not happen as expected - during his stay in the enclosure, Simon met the tortoise of Leonardo and no longer wanted to part with her!
"To the surprise of all of us, a strong bond has been established between the calf and the tortoise," comments the WFFT staff. "Their friendship is something incredible!"
Simon and Leonardo are inseparable all day - they rest together and even eat together!
