Litter for dogs with their own hands

Every four-footed pet in the house needs its own separate place for rest and sleep. In pet stores, you can choose an indoor cottage or an outdoor lounger , an ordinary rectangular mattress or a round cot with bows - the range will satisfy every owner. But it is much more pleasant, and sometimes more advantageous, to make a litter for a dog with your own hands. And our master class will introduce you to a simple and quick way to solve this problem.

How to make a litter for a dog with their own hands?

  1. Initially, it is necessary to prepare materials: a piece of fabric (preferably soft and hypoallergenic), foam rubber, round cardboard bases (from food film or foil), a sheet of fiberboard, scissors and a knife, a construction stapler, an adhesive tape. As you can see from the list of blanks, we will not sew the litter for the dog with our own hands, but fix the details with the help of an insulating tape and a stapler.
  2. We make the necessary measurements of the sleeping place for trimming foam and sheet fiberboard to the required parameters: size and shape. The size of the bed depends on the size of the dog in the supine position, and the shape - based on its position during sleep. In our case, we make a simpler rectangular shape. The length of the fabric is determined by the length of the bed in a double size and plus a few centimeters by the folds.
  3. To form the sides of the bed, we use round cardboard bases. You can make skirts around the perimeter of the litter, or only on one side, place the sides in the full length of the side or leave an open space for the convenience of the dog - it all depends on your choice and preferences of the pet. Thus, the cardboard bases are cut (if necessary) and glued with adhesive tape to the foam and DPV sheet.
  4. We wrap the sleeper in the fabric, leaving the tension of the lap sides slightly loose. Be sure to check the accuracy of the lining of our soft litter for the dog, so that the internal details of the structure are not visible. And only after that we fix the fabric with a stapler to the sheet of fiberboard.
  5. If desired, you can make an extra cover for a lounger or adjust a small pad for a four-legged friend. Such a removable cover or pillow is easier to wash in a typewriter than to re-shoot or change the skin of the bed each time. The main thing is that your favorite dog should feel comfortable and comfortable on a homemade litter.
