Unlike other beans, lentils do not need pre-soaking, which significantly reduces cooking time and facilitates the life of all lovers of this culture. Dried seeds must be thoroughly rinsed before cooking, to get rid of debris, and then immerse in already boiling water, wait for the second boil of liquid and reduce the fire to a minimum. Salt lentils during cooking is not necessary, otherwise it will become hard and inedible, it is enough to salt already ready porridge and the grains perfectly absorb the taste.

Cooking porridge, stirring constantly, on low heat for 10-15 minutes or until soft. The prepared dish is salted and served to the table.

Before preparing the porridge from the lentils, fill the seeds with water and leave for 30 minutes.

After the time the water is drained off. In the saucepan pour 2 cups of water, add the diced onions, garlic plates, tomato cubes and pre-soaked lentils. Cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat, leaving the lentils cooked until soft for about 30 minutes.

While porridge we will cook spicy dressing: in a small bowl mix cumin and mustard seeds, paprika is poured into a separate container. On a hot frying pan, pour a tablespoon of oil, as soon as it starts to hiss, immediately throw on the pan of grain and cover the frying pan with a lid, after a few seconds, pour the paprika. The brewing mixture of spices should be on the fire for no more than 30 seconds, after which it can be poured to the already cooked lentil. The dish is ready! Serve it in small bowls, decorated with greens.

Porridge of green lentils

Carrots, onions and celery are cut into cubes and fried in olive oil until soft (5-10 minutes). To fry pour pre-washed lentils, pour hot water or broth and add juice ½ lemon.
