Laos is not only one of the most mysterious Asian countries. It is also very beautiful, and special charm gives Laos its waterfalls. High and low, wide and narrow, ordinary and cascading - waterfalls are very different here, and they all have one thing: the amazing beauty of the surrounding countryside. Certainly, the waterfalls of Laos deserve to be visited.
Waterfalls in the north of the country
30 kilometers from the city of Luang Prabang, almost in the center of Laos, is the Kuang Si waterfall. It is located on the territory of the national park of the same name. The waterfall is very popular with tourists and local residents who come here to swim and just have a good day out in the bosom of nature. The waterfall is famous for its amazing color of water - it is bright turquoise here. The height of the largest cascade is 54 m.
At 15 km from Luang Prabang on the Nam Khan River is a multi-level waterfall Tad Se . Its 15 levels stretched almost 300 m. The waterfall is very turbulent, and you can admire the raging streams from numerous bridges and passages specially built above the waterfall. Such a complex labyrinth of structures can no longer be offered to any of the Laotian labyrinths. There are also places for swimming and picnics.
Waterfalls of southern Laos
On the Mekong in the southern part of Laos is the second famous waterfall - Khon . It will be more correct to say that this is a whole complex of different-level waterfalls and rapids. Khon (also pronounced "Kon") is famous for being the widest waterfall on the planet - its total width along with the islands is 10 km. Named after its discoverer E. Khohan, the waterfall is considered one of the most beautiful and quietest on the planet. It is recognized as a national treasure.
In addition, in the south of the country, waterfalls such as:

- E-Tu ;
- Fane .
They are in the province of Champasak near the town of Pakse , on the Bolaven Plateau . These waterfalls are less popular with tourists only because of the less "promoted". Fane is the highest of them. And all on the plateau - 27 waterfalls. They can go round in one day, if you rent a bike.
