The Jami Mosque is located in the business center of the city and is considered the main mosque of Kenya . It was built in 1906 by Syed Abdullah Shah Hussein. Since then, the building has been rebuilt many times, new buildings have been added to it. As a result, it turned out that the area of ​​modern construction is much larger, if compared with the original version.

Features of the building

This mosque is a vivid example of the architecture of the Arab-Muslim style. The predominant material is marble. The main detail of the interior decoration is the wall inscriptions from the Koran. But the most remarkable feature here are three silver domes and two minarets. The entrance to the mosque is made in the form of a gilded arch.
