Insulation under siding

One of the most common and sought-after finishing materials for exterior walling of houses is siding. When there is a question about additional thermal insulation of walls, it is necessary to decide what to choose a heater under siding .

Heat insulation for the house under the siding are such materials as mineral wool (its various types) and foam.

What insulation should I choose?

The best insulation under siding is the one that is the most durable, not combustible, it is desirable that it be mounted with a solid fragment, excluding gaps, has high thermal insulation properties, does not age, and has a stable shape.

Such insulation of walls under siding, as foam plastic (or polystyrene ) is the easiest, in comparison with other kinds of heaters. Most often it is used for the warming of the socle under the siding, this is because the foam practically does not pass water and has a high density. This material is short-lived, it is prone to rapid aging and destruction. It is also not a good soundproofing device.

Much more practical and rational insulation under the siding is mineral wool, it is suitable for the insulation of walls from any materials: brick, wood, concrete. It is better to use not roll cotton wool, it is more difficult to fasten and over time it slides down the wall, and it has the form of slabs, semi-rigid, it is more securely attached and better kept on the insulated surface.

The eco-wool made of cellulose, due to the use of borax and boric acid in its composition, is considered to be ecologically the best insulation, it is not rotted, nor is it combustible.

Both mineral wool and ecowool are equivalent in their heat and sound insulation properties. The only problem of ecowool is its fastening, it requires special equipment, with the help of which this insulation is applied to the walls.
