Folding chair with own hands

To organize a trip to nature, fishing or picnic, you need to provide yourself and your friends with comfortable conditions for rest and eating. A wooden folding chair made by one's own hands is very useful in such situations. It is lightweight, compact and convenient. You can make such a piece of furniture from wood. Such material makes it possible to manufacture parts of any required size. Consider the process of making a transformer in detail.

Manufacturing of a folding chair

In order to make the chair you will need materials and tools:

  1. Before you start making a folding chair with your own hands, you need to study the drawing of the product. The model of the chair is very simple, it has a seat from the laths and folding legs. The main thing is to make the parts correctly and then to assemble them.
  2. To do this, you need to make the blanks from the boards exactly according to the dimensions according to the drawing. Elements should be accurate, as the transformation of the chair is done by repeatedly adding parts. There should not be any distortions, so that there are no problems when assembling the chair. Thus, it will be necessary for him to prepare several details, the detailed layout of which is presented here.
  3. The boards are sawn, polished, cut to size.
  4. On the legs of the chair there are curvatures, which can be seen in the drawing. In the places where the crossbeams are connected to the seat, you can see that they have different roundings - on one side a semicircle, and on the other - a quarter. This should be taken into account when cutting the edges of short legs. Rounding is performed on the grinding machine.
  5. Holes for rotary knots are marked with an awl.
  6. Through holes and blind holes are made for rotary knots.
  7. You can proceed with the assembly of the chair. The main thing is to decompose the blanks correctly. On this depends on the correctness of the assembly. In the legs there is a rounding on one side. Two sets of long and short legs are unfolded - long ones inside. Roundings on short legs should be positioned exactly like in the figure.
  8. Furniture ties are screwed onto long legs. They are fastened to the cross on the cross. Screeds allow you to rotate parts in a twisted state, which is necessary when unfolding the product.
  9. Short legs are attached to long furniture screeds - each to its own. The short leg is attached to the long side, on which there is a semicircular rounding.
  10. The spacer is attached to the internal long legs with short screws.
  11. Extreme short legs are taken. They are screwed on a wide seat board with long self-tapping screws.
  12. The chair turns over.
  13. Here, a wide seat is screwed onto the internal short legs.
  14. In the same position, a narrow seat board is screwed together.
  15. The chair again turns over to the other side and another narrow board is screwed from the seat to the outer short legs.
  16. The missing cross bar is screwed.
  17. Now the chair calmly unfolds.
  18. Between the narrow legs is screwed the handle.
  19. The chair is ready for use.
