Surely, everyone in the house had old, unnecessary things lying around, which they simply pitifully throw away, and ordinary kitchen stools are no exception. Nevertheless, with the help of decoupage techniques, they can give a second life, and the obsolete thing will again become relevant. The design of the stool can be very diverse, it all depends on your imagination. In our master class, we will tell and show how you can make decoupage of stools yourself with the help of conventional kitchen napkins.
For this we need to prepare:
- stool, (we have a wooden seat);
- napkins usual kitchen, two-layered;
- grinding machine;
- PVA glue;
- sponge;
- acrylic lacquer;
- brush.
Decoration of a stool with your own hands
- Since the seat of the stool is wooden, and there are irregularities on it, we grind the surface with a grinder beforehand.
- Next, we take out one napkin and attach it to the seat to check if they match in size. Since the match is almost perfect, we separate the top layer of the napkin, from the lower layer, and leave the one with the pattern.
- Now take the glue PVA, we moisten them with a napkin. If the glue is too thick, you can dilute it with water in a ratio of 1: 1, if not, so leave.
- After the napkin is prepared, we put it on the stool seat, so that their centers coincide.
- Then, moving your fingers in a circle, evenly spreading the glue, we reach the edges, after which, lifting the edges of the napkin, squeeze the air that came under it. For this you can use a sponge, but for better effect, it's more convenient to do it with your fingers slowly.
- Now we see how the texture of the tree becomes visible through the napkin. If this does not suit you, you can paint the cover of the stool with white acrylic paint before sticking the napkin.
- When we reach the edge, wrap the napkin around the corners, and if there is an unnecessary corner, we can simply tear it off neatly.
- The wrapped edges of the napkin are glued to the ends of the seat. That's what a pretty cap with red flowers we got. We will set it aside to allow the glue to dry.
- Now, when the seat has dried up, use a brush to open our pasted napkin with acrylic lacquer and again leave it to dry.
- After a while we look, that at us it turned out, and safely we can carry our masterpiece to the kitchen. As you have noticed, it is not at all difficult to update and decorate the stool with the method of decoupage. We hope that you will succeed, too.
