How to make a lid for an aquarium with lighting?
For the lid, it is enough to buy one plastic panel with a length of 270 cm. You will also need a silicone sealant, narrow plastic corners, an adhesive tape, a stationery knife, an electric jigsaw, a marker and a ruler. Here is the panel itself:
We measure the dimensions of the aquarium. Remember that in addition to the cover itself, you will need to make the side faces that rise above the aquarium. Sufficient height of 7 cm, the length for the front and back face is cut along the length of the walls of the aquarium, and lateral - with a margin for fastening them to the back and front panel. We make all necessary markings on the panel and cut out the blanks with an electric jigsaw.

Now we need to attach lighting to the cover. In this case, 2 LED lamps and 2 energy-saving lamps were used. Their power is selected depending on the volume of the aquarium. During fitting, the design looks like this:
Next, it remains to learn how to make the limiters on the lid for the aquarium, so that it stays on its walls. To do this, attach to the sides of the inside of the pieces of plastic at a level just below the lamps, so that they are above the water level of five centimeters.
