Holiday "Energy Day"

The celebration of the Energy Day in most countries falls on December 22. It is in December that the shortest light days are, and people most need light. In some former republics of the Union it is celebrated in the old way, on the third Sunday of the first month of winter. Therefore, for example, in Kazakhstan, the Energy Day may fall on December 21 or on a different date. In the USSR it was established in honor of the adoption of the electrification plan for a young country - GOELRO, which the government signed in 1922. It was the accomplishment of this grandiose project that people in towns and villages soon learned about the existence of the famous "Ilyich bulb", which replaced the usual candles and kerosene lamps.

The day of nuclear energy since 2005 in Russia is celebrated in autumn. Why did you decide this holiday separately? Over time, the conventional thermal and hydroelectric power stations could no longer fully satisfy the developing industry. They were replaced by a young nuclear power engineering. In the bloody years of the Second World, our scientists made great discoveries, which soon turned the whole world. September 28, 1942, the government adopted an order "On the organization of work on uranium" and at a high level was approved the creation of a modern laboratory for the study of the atomic nucleus.

For what purpose is the energy day proclaimed?

We do not notice their work when the light in the room is bright, the TV is working or the kettle is boiling. In the street it's winter, the sun has gone for a long time, but in the apartments of our citizens it's warm and the light shines. It's creepy to think about how people in the past lived in their dark houses, which were lit by dim lamps and wax candles. Modern people already simply can not do without the simplest household appliances that have greatly improved their everyday life. We all now live in the realm of electricity. Therefore, one should not forget about people who provide us with light and warmth every day.

With the advent of the first electrical installations at the end of the XIX century, specialists were required who were supposed to serve them. There are new non-traditional sources of light and heat, but good energy will always be in price. In any weather, these specialists work at enterprises, eliminate accidents, providing uninterrupted power to our electrical installations, trying to provide us with light. The day of the energy engineer unites many people, try to congratulate them on the holiday and thank you for your hard work.
