International Day of Blondes

Blondes ... How many prejudices are associated with the owners of such a light hair color: there are accusations of intimacy, and smiles over their irrational female logic, and accusations of addiction to glamor with its pink color and excessive shine. The blonde has long become a narrow-minded, naive whimsical type of sexist jokes as a collective image of a woman.

In reality, things are very different. Next to us, there live a lot of the smartest rulers of blond curls . It is unlikely that anyone will turn their tongue to blame for the foolishness of Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany or US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. They are both experienced politicians and wise women. To doubt the erudition and creativity of Joanne Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter saga, is also not worth it. She earned a huge fortune on the books, and now with an enviable periodicity gets on various lists of "the most successful." And how many blondes among show business people: Sharon Stone, Uma Thurman, Madonna, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston and many others.

It is not surprising that a tradition arose to celebrate the International Day of Blondes.

Give us only an excuse ...

Officially, such a holiday, as the International Day of Blondes, has not yet been documented. But if you are interested in the question of what day the blondes are in Russia, the answer is: May 31. It is with this last bright spring day that the history of the day of the blonde is connected.

In 2006, on this day, the ceremony of awarding the "Diamond Pin" award - awards for the most talented, smart, successful blondes of Russia was held for the first time. Since then, Lithuania and the Republic of Belarus have joined the celebration of the blonde's holiday. In these states, the "Parade of Blondes" events are held every year, and in Belarus they also choose the best blonde in the country.

These holidays are aimed at fighting against stereotypes and debunking myths about blondes. In 2009, the International Blondes Association filed an application with UNESCO to recognize May 31 as the day of blondes and fix the appropriate holiday for this date. Despite the fact that the application was never approved, the World Blond Day is still celebrated in some countries.

The problem of the disappearance of blondes

Some men claim that a blonde is a state of mind, not a hair color . We will not respond to this attack. We agree only with the fact that most blondes in our region are dyed.

Fashion for light hair color came from ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, and the very first blonde, whom we heard about, can be considered Aphrodite - the goddess of love, beauty, eternal spring and life.

Natural blondes are most often found in Scandinavia, most of them in Finland. Scientists have not yet come to a single conclusion about how among the inhabitants of the Scandinavian peninsula so many blond people have accumulated.

The dominant opinion is that during the offensive of the glacier, there was an evolutionary selection based on sexuality. Men were engaged in hunting, moving for long distances in the conditions of the tundra. A lot of men died in such conditions. Women were dependent on their men, and engaged in gathering to a lesser extent. Therefore, there were more women than men, and men chose for the continuation of those representatives of the opposite sex, whose appearance was more vivid and attractive.

Today in the media there is an opinion that WHO and some Canadian scientists have decided that in two hundred years, not a single blonde on Earth will remain. However, WHO denied these rumors, saying that studies on blondes have never been carried out
