Heart failure is one of the main clinical syndromes associated with cardiac dysfunction. It can be acute and chronic. Concerning the classification of heart failure among cardiologists, heated debates are under way. Therefore, at present, in most countries, two systems are used to separate this disease into species.
Classification Strazhesko and Vasilenko
Classification of acute and chronic heart failure of cardiologists Vasilenko and Strazhesko was proposed in 1935 at the 12th congress of therapists. According to her, this disease is divided into 3 stages:
- I - latent heart failure, which is detected only with active physical activity;
- II - severe heart failure, with it begins to stagnate in a small or large circle, so the symptoms are manifested even in complete rest;
- Stage III is the last stage, which is characterized by dystrophic changes in different organs and severe hemodynamic disorders, metabolic changes occur, as well as irreversible changes in the tissue structure.
This classification of chronic or acute heart failure is most commonly used in the CIS.
Classification of the New York Cardiac Association
According to the classification of the New York Cardio Association, patients with cardiovascular insufficiency are divided into 4 classes:
- I - patients with heart disease, but without obvious limitations of physical activity;
- II - patients with physical activity, which is moderately limited due to the appearance of dyspnea , a feeling of intense palpitation and fatigue during daily exercise, but at the same time, at rest, all patients feel perfectly normal;
- III - patients with disabilities, they occasionally have symptoms of angina at a load below normal;
- IV - patients can not perform even simple physical actions without a feeling of severe discomfort, various symptoms of angina arise even in rest.
