Very often in kindergartens and schools on the New Year's holiday requires a frog carnival costume, but not always on sale you can find a really beautiful outfit. The way out for parents is to sew a children's frog costume with their own hands, but they often do not know how to do it.
Master class: how to sew a frog costume for a girl
It will take:
- dense cardboard with a size of 2mx1m;
- Whatman paper is green;
- yellow satin ribbon;
- 3m of green tulip (hard);
- 1 foam ball;
- yellow paint;
- elastic band, red tape and red wire;
- glue, glue gun, scissors;
- yellow, green and black foam;
- yellow cardboard;
- green jersey;
- instruments.
- Throughout the cardboard draw an oval, in the center there is a circle, the length of which is equal to the length of the child's waist + 5 cm. We put two points on the inner circle, 3 cm apart from each other, and draw straight lines on them to a large oval, as shown in the picture. Cut out the painted part.
- Using the resulting shape as a template, we cut out the same detail from the green paper.
- We put a green jersey in the circle and mark the line so that the cardboard circle is on the waist of the child. We add glue to the underside of the cardboard.
- To the top of the cardboard we glue the part from the green paper.
- From the green tulle we make a pack, cutting off a strip of width equal to the radius of our oval and collecting it from one side to a string, the length of which will be equal to the waist of the child.
- We fold the yellow satin ribbon in half, insert the gathered tulle into the inside and we spread it.
- The skirt made will be placed on top of the cardboard circle at the waist of the child.
- We cut out of green foam two pieces, located in a mirror, for the thigh, legs and feet. To form the hip and leg, glue the obtained parts by letters.
- To the detail of the foot, glue the square of green tulip, and then when the glue dries, cut out the paw with the membranes between the fingers.
- We insert a detail of the leg into the hip and glue them in place of the joint, then to the leg - the foot.
- We begin to make the head of a frog. By patterns we cut out details from green and yellow foam.
- On the green part we put the yellow and glue them only along the edge.
- Fill the remaining space of the beak with a cloth or cloth.
- To the two ends of the beak got to stick an elastic band, slightly longer than the head of the child.
- In the cuts, we inserted a detail for the eyes from the green foam, made by the template
- Painted yellow, the ball is cut into two parts, to each of them we glue the pupil cut from the black foam.
- Over the eyes we glue the eyelid, made of foam. And then we glue the head of the frog to the workpiece.
- To make the tongue, one must pass the wire along the entire length of the red tape and insert its end between the yellow and green parts of the mouth of the frog. Thanks to the wire, the language can be given any shape.
- From yellow cardboard we perform the crown and our frog costume is ready!

New Year costume frog for boy - master class
It will take:
- foam rubber;
- an old cap;
- 2 m of green fleece;
- ball;
- white felt;
- glue, tools: needles, threads, scissors, sewing machine.
- To make the head of the frog for the basics take the old cap of the child and cut off her visor.
- Cut out a wedge with a cap length from the foam rubber 2, and 2 more - 5 cm longer. We try on the cap, we cut off the excess piece and sew the pieces together: short ones in front and long ones in the back.
- To make a frog's mouth, cut out a foam strip with a width of 5-7 cm. Sew it to the protruding parts of the rear wedges so that there is a distance between the hat and the strip for the eyes and nose of the child. For convenience of sheathing fleece, it is better to sew on one side at once, and on the other, simply fix it.
- From fleece we cut out 5-6 pieces. wedges, the same size as with foam rubber. We sew them from the wrong side, turn them out and put them on the hat. We cut off excess fabric from the front.
- From the front, sew a secret cloth with a cloth to the cap.
- In the same way, we wrap the strip that performs the role of the mouth and sew it on the second side.
- The ball is cut into two parts and pasted with white felt, bending the ends to the wrong side.
- On the well-dried halves glue, cut out of a black cloth pupils.
- We paste the obtained eyes exactly in the middle of the front wedge hats.
- From the felt we cut a strip 25 cm long and 10 long triangles. Sew them by putting a wide part of the triangle into a folded half-strip. This will be the collar of our frog.
- The jacket with long sleeves and straight pants is sewed according to the child's clothes.
Our frog is ready!
