Food stretch film

Still some 20 years ago we carefully washed the used cellophane bags, dried them on the balcony, to use them again and again to store the products. But the Stone Age is behind us, because now there is a food stretch film, with which you can keep the freshness of products and their presentation for a long time, both in everyday life and in trade.

Today, stretch film is used for different purposes - for packing goods in the workplace, for packing products when packaged in a retail trade network, and, of course, at home, when there is a need to restrict air access to products so that they do not gain the smell of the refrigerator or vice versa , did not give him their.

There are two types of food film - PVC and PE. Let's find out what advantages they have and what to choose for use at home, because they have different prices.

PVC stretch film

The abbreviation PHV stands for quite simply - it is polyvinyl chloride. Use this material for contact with food, since it is completely harmless to humans, provided it is used correctly.

The main advantage of PVC film is that it has a fine-porous structure, invisible to the eye, which allows moisture and air to flow out. This property is necessary wherever warm food is packaged in a film, such as in a bakery.

Warm bread can be packed in film without waiting for its full cooling. At the time of packaging, condensation forms on the inside of the film, which gradually comes out, the products look very attractive and are sold for sale to the retail chain. For large volumes of production, together with rolls of stretch film, a dispenser is used for it. This is a hand holder with a comfortable handle, with which the work is faster, and the packaging becomes more accurate.

Since the cost of such material is high enough, it is more used in industrial quantities, but for home use, a cheaper variant of packaging material is purchased, but also possesses not less useful properties.

Stretch film from polyethylene

For the house we buy inexpensive polyethylene film in small rolls. Stretch film dimensions are usually standard and have a width of 25 cm, and the length varies from 10 m or more. This film, in contrast to PCVs on the contrary, does not allow air to pass to the products packed by it, which means it will not allow harmful microorganisms to enter and develop inside.

Now there is no need to carefully choose dishes for storing food in the refrigerator or to rack their brains, as it is better to transport food sets, for example, to rest. With the help of a stretch film, you can hermetically pack any product and not worry about its safety.
