Erespal is a drug that is widely used today for the treatment of various infectious, inflammatory and allergic diseases of the ENT organs.
Composition of tablets Erespal
The main active substance of Erespal is fenspiride - a substance with anti-inflammatory, bronchodilator and antihistamine properties. It exerts an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, and also stimulates the secretion of viscous mucus, making Erespal primarily used as a cough pill.
One Erespal tablet contains 80 mg of active ingredient. As an aid in the preparation includes:
- calcium hydrogen phosphate (104.5 mg);
- hypromellose (100 mg);
- povidone (12.8 mg);
- colloidal anhydrous silica (500 μg);
- magnesium stearate (2.2 mg).
The shell covering the tablets consists of:
- titanium dioxide;
- glycerol;
- hypromellose;
- macrogol 6000;
- magnesium stearate.
The preparation is produced in the form of round biconvex tablets of white color, in blisters of 15 tablets, packed in cardboard packs.
Indications for the use of tablets Erespal
The drug is used in the treatment of acute inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, such as:
- rhinitis;
- sinusitis;
- rhinopharyngitis;
- tracheitis ;
- bronchitis, both bacterial and viral origin.
Erespal is well combined with antibiotics, antiviral and expectorant drugs.
With chronic diseases of the respiratory system, such as chronic bronchitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, the use of Erespal in tablets helps to suppress the inflammatory process and prevent relapses.
With bronchial asthma, Erespal is used as part of complex maintenance therapy.
Also due to its antihistamine properties, Erespal is indicated for use in chronic or seasonal allergic rhinitis .
Side effects and contraindications Erespal in tablets:
- The drug is not used in the treatment of children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
- The drug is not recommended for use in pregnancy and lactation.
- When using Erespal tablets, side effects such as abdominal pain, nausea, and stool disorders can occur quite often (approximately 1% of cases). In rare cases, there may be drowsiness, dizziness, mild tachycardia, urticaria. In most cases, side effects occur with a decrease in the dose of the drug. A complete refusal to take this medication requires only severe allergic reactions.

How to take Erespal in tablets?
Erespal refers to prescription drugs, so the method of administration and the number of tablets are usually determined by the doctor.
It is recommended to take the medicine half an hour before meals. In chronic inflammatory diseases, usually take two tablets Erespal per day, morning and evening. In acute inflammatory processes, you may be recommended to take the medication three times a day, before breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, the doctor can choose an individual scheme for taking the drug. In this case, the maximum daily dose of the drug should not exceed 240 mg (3 tablets). Duration of treatment is determined individually and can range from one week for acute viral and bacterial infections, up to several months for chronic diseases.
It should be remembered that the drug has only anti-inflammatory, but not antibacterial and antiviral properties. Therefore, taking Erespal can not replace taking antibiotics.
