Enterol analogues

Enterol is a drug used for intestinal infections, diarrhea and dysbiosis of various etiologies, inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract due to bacterial, viral, parasitic and fungal lesions. The main therapeutic effect of this remedy is as follows:

Enterol consists of free-lyophilized live microorganisms of the sugar beet molasses, which are the main active component of the drug.

Enterol during pregnancy

Due to the fact that the necessary controlled studies on the use of Enterol during pregnancy and breastfeeding have not been carried out, the drug is prescribed in such cases with extreme caution. Enterol can be recommended to pregnant women and nursing mothers only when the expected benefit of therapy for the patient exceeds the potential risk for the child (fetus).

What to replace Enterol?

In some cases, use of Enterol is not recommended. This applies to patients with a central venous catheter, as well as to individuals who are intolerant to the components of the drug. In such a case, the attending physician may prescribe an analog agent having a similar therapeutic effect, but containing other substances or strains of microorganisms as an active ingredient. For the drug Enterol analogs are the following drugs:

Which is better - Enterol or Enterofuril?

Enterofuril is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections. The main active substance of this drug is Nifuroxazide , which has a bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect against most pathogens of acute intestinal infections.

Enterofuril is a safe enough drug that is well tolerated, practically does not cause side effects, does not disturb the balance of normal intestinal flora and does not have systemic effects. It can be administered both during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

The question of the advisability of using Enterol or Eterofuril can be solved only by the attending physician depending on the diagnosis. However, it is worth noting that for the restoration of the intestinal microflora, only Enterol is suitable, and Enterofuril is absolutely useless in this respect.
