Do not start trimmer

Like any technique, trimmers are subject to various breakages. Often at the beginning of the dacha season, owners of such tools complain that the trimmer does not start, and it takes a long time to look for the cause of the malfunction.

For those who have purchased the trimmer recently and are still on the "you" with this technique, it will be useful to know why the trimmer does not start and what to do in this case. So, let's find out what can cause this.

Do not start a gasoline trimmer - 10 possible causes

Before trying to set up the instrument yourself, carefully study the manual for its operation. Perhaps the information contained in it, will push you to this or that thought. Otherwise it is necessary to search for the cause of the malfunction by the selection method. It may be one of the following:

  1. The toggle switch on the boom is not set to "On". This is one of the elementary steps, but sometimes beginners forget to turn on the tool before launching it.
  2. Such errors include the lack of fuel in the tank. If the fuel is over, and you forgot about it, just fill the tank with AI-92 gas (usually it is located near the engine).
  3. No, an unsuitable mixture or an incorrect proportion of oil for engines. Ideally, you should regularly add not more than 50 g of oil. This will serve as additional lubrication and will keep the engine of your trimmer in working condition. Also consider that the oil is of different types ("synthetic", "semisynthetic", "mineral water") - they all have different effects on the mechanism.
  4. If the trimmer does not start after winter, drain the fuel remaining in the fuel tank and replace it with fresh fuel. This is especially true for small low-power trimmers with small motors, sensitive to poor-quality mixture. In addition, during the winter, a sediment can form on the bottom of the gas tank, because of which problems arise with the operation of the device.
  5. Excessive fuel pumping can also be one of the reasons that the trimmer stalled and does not start. When the air damper is closed, the candle is flooded with fuel. It should be unscrewed and dried, and then inserted into its place and try to start the engine while holding the throttle trigger. It is advisable to test it beforehand for the presence of a spark between the electrodes. If there is no spark - the candle should be replaced.
  6. Problems with the filter. If your trimmer does not start properly, remove the air filter and start the tool without it. If everything turned out - the filter should be changed to a new one. As an option - carefully clean and purge the old one, but sooner or later a replacement will have to be made.
  7. Trimmer stalled and will not start? Try to clean the so-called breather - an element designed to equalize the pressure in the gas tank. Cleaning can be done with an ordinary long needle. A clogged breather often causes a malfunction.
  8. The machine is removed knives - some models will not work under this condition.
  9. Infringement of tightness. This can be checked using a manometer. If the pressure begins to fall, determine which part of the carburetor is faulty. The carburettor gasket is most often worn out.
  10. Sometimes after a long period of work, you can notice that the trimmer has overheated and will not start. First, you should know that you should definitely take breaks. The amount of continuous operation time recommended for this model should be specified in the instruction. Also, the problem of overheating can be covered in a faulty ignition coil or in an air cooling system that prevents overheating.

If none of these actions yielded results, you should contact a repair shop or a service center.
