Decoupage of ceramic tiles - a master class

Despite the huge variety of colors of modern ceramic tiles, I want to create in my house a unique interior. One of the ways to decorate a bathroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and even a room is decoupage of tile with your own hands. The technique of decorating tiles is simple, but if you want to decorate it with a large area, then this session will have to be paid a lot. In this master class, we will talk in detail about the principles of decoupage on ceramic tiles.

We will need:

  1. Before you start, you should treat the ceramic tile with medical alcohol to degrease its surface. Then from the paper napkin, cut out the part with the drawing that you like, which corresponds to the size of the ceramic tile. If the edges of the tile are rounded, reduce the cut out size by 2-3 millimeters from all sides so that the paper does not hang over the edges. Lubricate the back of the napkin with glue. Be very careful, since a thin napkin can deform from contact with the brush. If the color of the pattern changes as a result of contact with the glue, do not be frightened. After the glue dries, the problem is solved.
  2. Attach the cut fragment to the surface of the tile and carefully iron it to remove all air bubbles. Allow the product to dry for several hours. Then heat the oven to 170 degrees and place the tile in it for half an hour. After turning off, do not rush to get the tile. Let it cool down completely when the oven door is open. If you plan to use the tile as a stand for cups and glasses, you can glue a piece of thin felt that is a few millimeters smaller than a piece of paper from the back.
  3. The front side of the tile is covered with a layer of transparent acrylic paint. You can decorate the product with a picture. After drying, place the tile again for 15 minutes in the oven, heated to 150 degrees. Tile, made in the technique of decoupage, ready!

Very original looks ceramic tiles, for decoupage which uses a photo printed on thin paper. This image can be applied to both a single tile and several, cutting the photo into several fragments (the principle of the puzzle).
