Decoupage chair

The times when the old wooden chairs, still functional, but already wiped and podnadoevshie, thrown into the dump, passed. Domestic needlewomen have long mastered the technique of decoupage, therefore furniture has all chances for a new life. First, the transformation of the old chair will cost you much cheaper than buying a new one, and, secondly, nowhere else will you see such furniture, because your work is unique!

We will need:

• chair;
• primer;
• putty;
• sandpaper;
• acrylic paints;
• candle;
• Crackles lacquer;
• varnish;
• napkin;
• PVA glue.

1. Before making a chair in the style of decoupage, it should be sanded, puttied and primed. Then apply a layer of brown acrylic paint. In our case, the color of the color is burnt umber. Ribs are colored in blue cobalt.
2. Legs and stools are rubbed with a candle and put in the right places craquee varnish. Thanks to this lacquer, stylish cracks will appear, which will be imperceptible to the touch. This effect gives the handicrafts made in the style of decoupage, a special charm.
3. Now it's time to apply acrylic white paint, and when it dries, sand the edges and legs to develop the lower layer.
4. The chair is already ready for decoupage, that is, drawing the main drawing. To do this, gently apply a pattern, cut from the napkin, with the help of PVA glue in the center of the chair seat. On the back of the chair you can make a stylistic sketch with acrylic paints. In our chair, birds will look great. When the paper dries, use a bit of abrasive paper to "age" the pattern, and then the whole chair needs to be covered with varnish in 6-8 layers. In this case, be sure to completely dry each layer!

The technique of decoupage is so multifaceted that by connecting the imagination, you can effortlessly arrange for yourself a dining table or kitchen furniture set in one style. Even the fact that old wooden chairs can be different in form will not become an obstacle, because the color solution will balance the inconsistencies.
