Modular origami is named because all the crafts are assembled according to a certain scheme of modules made of paper. They can be of different shapes, but the classic option is the triangular module. It is worth noting that the origami crafts from triangular modules are not glued, but are assembled by inserting the modules into each other.
Crafts from origami modules are easy to make from rectangular note paper. But when buying, pay attention to the paper was without a sticky strip. There are also special sets for origami, but they are not always easy to find even in specialized stores for needlewomen. You can use for this purpose and ordinary office paper in different colors, but the sheets must be pre-cut, making them squares or rectangles. If you need small modules, the sheet should be divided into 32 parts (4x8 rectangles).
For beginners, small origami modules are a complex task, so the sheet must be cut into 16 parts (4x4 rectangles). It is not difficult to assemble the triangle modules. We offer a simple master class that will be useful to those who want to try their hand at making new crafts from origami modules based on triangle blocks.
Where to begin?
The first thing to do is to prepare rectangles of paper. To do this, the A4 sheet is cut in half, then three more times in half to make 32 rectangles. After that, bend the resulting part in half, once again in half, and then bend the lower and upper corners to the center, bend the corners formed at the ends. After this, add the resulting triangle in half, and the module is ready.

After you have prepared several dozen triangular modules (the exact amount depends on the size of the craft), you need to learn how to assemble them. There are only three of them (see the diagrams below).

Now you can safely try your hand at making crafts from origami modules, and you can start with a vase or a small animal.
Vase from triangular modules
To create this craft, you need to prepare 280-300 modules. Some of them can be made from paper of a different color. We start by connecting the modules, forming a circle from them. The subsequent tiers are expanded by increasing the number of modules. If desired, we introduce color modules. To narrow the diameter of the vase, the number of modules is reduced. The shape, size and color of the vase can be anything!

Funny piggy
This craft is sure to please your children. Collecting it from pre-prepared modules is not difficult. First, connect the two triangular modules by putting a third on them. Then, form a barrel shape, alternately pushing the modules onto each other. The size of the craft depends on how many modules you use to build it.

Now you need to make a leg for a pig. If the creation of such modules seems too complicated for you, use oblong beads or quilling paper folded into a small roll.

After the legs are glued to the body, it remains to form a patch of paper from a narrow strip of paper, and attach it. Eyes can be used ready, made of plastic. We glue the tail, twisted from a strip of paper into a thin tube, and the charming piglet, executed by their triangular modules in origami technique, is ready!
