Cervical amputation

To date, there are several ways to perform such an operation, as amputation of the cervix. It all depends on where the pathological process is located, which requires surgical intervention. For example, with the available follicular type of hypertrophy, doctors usually perform an amputation of only the vaginal part. In this case, wedge-shaped excisions of both lips of the uterine throat are produced.

Types of operations

  1. Cone-shaped amputation of the cervix is an operation that must be performed with endocervicitis . This disease is often accompanied by the appearance of cervical polyps, which often recur.
  2. With the elongation of the uterine neck itself, which results in the appearance of hypertrophy, the uterus protrudes from the genital cleft, which can lead to its loss. In such cases, a high amputation of the cervix is carried out.
  3. Pregnancy after such amputation of the uterine neck no longer occurs. Therefore, the operation is carried out mainly in women who have already left the childbearing age, or do not plan to have more children.
  4. With cervical dysplasia, amputation is performed only if the disease is accompanied by the appearance of tumors, which threatens the life of a woman.
  5. With the existing hypertrophy and anatomical deformities, cervical uteri are amputated according to Sturmdorf.

When performing surgery to amputate the cervix, bleeding can occur, which is a consequence of a complex operation.
