Cathedral (Potosí)

Potosi is one of the most high-altitude cities in the world. This incredibly popular resort is located in the central part of Bolivia . Tens of thousands of curious tourists come to see the "silver capital of the world" with their own eyes. Going to explore the city and its ancient architecture, be sure to visit the Cathedral of Potosi - the main religious landmark of the city.

What is interesting about the cathedral?

The Cathedral of Potosi is located in the heart of the city of the same name, on the Square on 10 November. The building was built between 1808 and 1838 on the site of an ancient church, which, unfortunately, was destroyed in 1807.

The temple is entirely made of stone, and its architecture traces the motifs of baroque and neoclassicism. However, it is worth noting that the appearance of the cathedral is rather modest and unremarkable. The interior is also rather restrained, but it's more of a dignity than a flaw.

Climbing the spiral staircases of the Potosi Cathedral, you will be able to view the city in detail - from here you can see a beautiful view of the center and the main attractions of this beautiful resort.

Useful information for tourists
