There are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs intended for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. These include Amelotex - indications for the use of this tool include, in the main, the pathology of the joints, which are accompanied by degenerative changes and a pronounced pain syndrome.
Indications for the use of Amelotex tablets
The active ingredient of the presented drug is meloxicam. This substance produces an analgetic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect. In addition, the active ingredient has a very high bioavailability, of the order of 99%. Concentration of meloxicam in 1 tablet of the drug is 7.5 mg.
Medication Amelotex in tablets is used in the following cases:
- Bechterew's disease (ankylosing spondylitis);
- osteoarthritis;
- arthritis of rheumatoid type.
It is worth noting that the dosage is different for each of the listed diseases.
With Bechterew's disease and rheumatoid arthritis, the recommended daily concentration is 15 mg. For osteoarthritis, this figure is 7.5 mg. Admission is carried out once a day, while eating.
It is important to remember that the agent under consideration does not affect the nature of the course of the disease and its progression, it is intended to arrest clinical manifestations.
Application of Amelotex in the form of a solution
This dosage form is intended for intramuscular administration. The solution is packed in ampoules of 1.5 ml, in 1 ml of the liquid contains 10 mg of the active ingredient (meloxicam).
Indications for the use of Amelotex in this form are similar to the tablet form of the preparation. In addition, it can be prescribed for diseases of the joints, accompanied by intense pain. Including:
- polyarthritis;
- fibrodysplasia;
- bursitis;
- periarthritis;
- ankylosis;
- achillobursitis;
- chondrocalciosis;
- Reiter's syndrome ;
- arthralgia;
- dysplasia of the hip joints;
- pseudoarthrosis;
- reactive arthritis.
Proper use of the drug is to inject the solution deep into the large muscle. The daily dosage is from 7.5 to 15 mg, depending on the effectiveness of the therapy.
Indications for the use of Amelotex gel
The concentration of meloxicam in the form in question is 1% (1 g of the active ingredient in 100 g of gel).
The only indication to use the drug in this form is osteoarthritis, if it is accompanied by a pain syndrome of mild and moderate intensity. In other cases, applying the medication locally does not help to get rid of uncomfortable sensations, since meloxicam does not penetrate so deeply into the subcutaneous layers.
The gel should be rubbed 2-3 minutes twice a day, approximately 2 grams, until completely absorbed. The duration of treatment depends on the stage
As a rule, tenderness of the joint decreases after 20-25 minutes after applying the gel. Amelotex also eliminates inflammation and swelling due to the fact that it includes essential oils (lavender and orange blossoms), as well as 95% ethanol. These ingredients mutually enhance the effect of each other and meloxicam, accelerate blood circulation at the site of rubbing, produce a local irritating and warming effect.
It is important to note that the gel should not be applied to the damaged skin, in the presence of open wounds or deep abrasions, because the active substance can cause severe irritation and slow the regeneration of cells.
