If earlier buildings (a monastery with a refectory and a parish church) are made in the traditions of medieval Gothic, then later (the chambers of the hegumene, farm buildings, the front yard and the house of the parish priest) are Renaissance and, in part, classicism.
Works on the restoration of the monastery and the return to its former form were begun in 1921 and continue to this day.

Today, the National Geographical Society of Belgium and the Higher School of Visual Arts are located on the territory of the abbey. The latter was founded by the famous architect Henri van de Velde in 1926. The monastery church itself is used as a Catholic parish church.
