Autism is not a disease, it is a developmental disorder. But in order to be happy, you do not have to be normal! And what is "normality"?
Meet this is Iris Grace from Leicestershire, a child with an extraordinary talent for creating stunning paintings.
Iris has a special type of perception of the surrounding world.
Autism affects social interaction and ways of communication of a person with people around him.
This disorder of the brain was diagnosed in a baby in 2011. Since then, painting for her is a means of communication, as well as the basis of therapy.
She has already begun to speak and express herself through art.
When Grace began to draw, her parents, Arabella Carter-Johnson and Peter-John Halmshaw, discovered her exceptional ability to create masterpieces unusual to children of her age.
Arabella says that her daughter has a phenomenal duration of concentration - about 2 hours each time she takes up the brush.
"She feels colors and how they interact with each other," Arabella says. "And when I review her work, she's all shining. It makes her very happy. "
The woman had a great desire to share her daughter's work to attract attention to her and another hundred thousand of the same children in the UK.
"When you are a parent or teacher of an autistic child, every time you communicate, you are constantly looking for a key that will unlock the door to their world," she adds.
"For me, this key was the love of Iris for drawing."
