This landmark is located in the picturesque valley of the Shahe River in the Jegosz natural boundary. This famous place - the most beautiful gorge Dzegosz - is located in the Lazarevsky district (Lazarevskoye settlement) near the village of Golovinka (just 11 km) and 4 km from the village of Big Kichmai. A natural monument, protected by the state as part of the Sochi National Park, is officially called "33 waterfalls on the Djegosh Creek". Local residents tell the story of 33 waterfalls, or rather a legend. According to it, the Shapsug Adygs of Shapsugs located in the valley of the Shahe River began to destroy the giant. One of the inhabitants of the brave Gooch overcame the villain by cunning. He left for the giant barrels of honey, which soon the enemy and pounced greedily. However, soon a huge swarm of bees fell upon the giant. Fleeing from their bites, the giant began to climb the mountain and managed to make only 33 steps. But Gooch, waiting for the enemy, cut it with a sword, causing the giant to collapse on the rock. The rock cracked, and through 33 stones pure water flowed from the crack.

The meandering creek Djegosh is considered the first tributary of the local river Shahe. Most of it is a magnificent cascade of waterfalls of small size and different heights. The maximum height of the waterfall is almost 11 meters. There are 33 waterfalls with 13 rapids and 7 drains on a creek with a length of 500 m. Waterfalls begin on the slopes of the mountain peak at an altitude of 220 m above sea level. A beautiful water stream of clear clear water descends the thin narrow gorge, forming a huge bubbling, at different angles, a brilliant jet in the sun. The cascade is surrounded by dense forest groves and thickets of boxwood Colchis, sometimes even rare and endangered species of plants - cyclamen, Voronov's snowdrop, Colchis needle, lapina, and others.

An excursion to the original landmark of the region begins from the village of Big Kichmai. If you talk about how to get to 33 waterfalls from Sochi, then it's easiest to book a tour package and see what you want as a member of the excursion group. Usually tourists go by bus to Greater Kichmai. From the village they are taken on off-road vehicles GAZ66 to the mouth of Djegosh, because along the way it will be necessary to cross the river Shahe.

Independently to go to 33 waterfalls it is possible by the car. From Sochi they make their way to the village of Golovinka, and then turn to the right after the bridge over the Shah River, reaching the village of Bolshoi Kichmai. In the village we recommend hiring a driver with an off-road car.
