If you seriously think about working on the weekend, it is important to approach the issue with all seriousness. On whether you are going to work outside of your company, and from whom the initiative comes, depends on what monetary reward you will get for the labors. In this article, we will look at several options for working and making money on weekends.

Work on weekends for the main employer

To begin with, in some cases, the employer has every right to bring you to urgent work on the weekend without your consent. Fortunately, these cases are extreme (and therefore, the risk of their occurrence is minimal):

If you are an invalid, pregnant woman or mother of a child who is under 3 years of age, then you have the right to refuse to work. In any case, the employer is obliged to give you a written warning about the right to refuse (for your signature).

In other cases you can be brought to work on weekends only with your consent, which is made in writing.

Payment of work on a day off

If the employer offers you to go to work on a weekend or a holiday, you need to remember that this work is paid for at least double the tariff, as defined in Article 153 of the LC RF (large sums can be stipulated in collective or employment contracts). This rule is valid both for pieceworkers (not less than a double piece rate), and for those who work on hourly and daily working rates. If you receive a salary, the employer pays your work at least the standard hour or day rate (per hour or day of work) in excess of your basic salary (if you worked within a month's working time). If the work on a day off is overtime (exceeding the monthly working time norm), the employer is obliged to pay it at least twice the hour or day rate per hour / day of work in excess of the basic salary.

If you wish, you can ask the employer to give you another day of rest instead of a worked day off. In this case, the employer pays for work on a day off in the usual amount, and the time off is no longer payable.

Work on weekends in combination

If the fate turns out that in addition to the main job, you need to look for constant work on the weekend, so it's about working part-time. This type of work is also prescribed in the Labor Code in art. 282.

A part-time job is considered to be work in the main company, but necessarily in another position. This type of part-time is called internal. Important: for each of your posts a separate employment contract must be registered.

Accordingly, external part-time work involves working on a weekend at another employer. In this case, you can hold the same position as you do on the main job.

It is important: you have the right to work part-time only when you are of age.

One-off projects on weekends

Many people prefer to take work on weekends at home or carry out one-time projects. If possible, agree to a "hack-work" with the conclusion of a service agreement or choose a trusted employer.
