What to see in Minsk?

Most tourists, when they come to this or that country, begin their acquaintance with it from the capital. So today we decided to introduce you to the beautiful country of castles - Byelorussia - a bit closer, looking into its very heart - the city-hero Minsk.

Unfortunately, many historical monuments of architecture were destroyed even during the Great Patriotic War, so the city's building is quite young. However, most of the buildings were to be reconstructed or rebuilt according to old drawings, which allowed to preserve the culture of those times.

What interesting things can you see in Minsk?

Minsk City Hall

We offer the description of Minsk sights from the main building - the Town Hall, located on Liberty Square. Almost 150 years passed before the building was rebuilt in 2004 after it was destroyed in 1857 by the decree of Emperor Nicholas I.

To date, the Minsk City Hall is the central construction, where various solemn events of city and regional significance take place, on the ground floor there is an exhibition that acquaints visitors with the history of Minsk, and on the second floor there is a hall for reception of important guests.

Yanka Kupala Park

The next favorite place of travelers is the park named after Yanka Kupala - the famous Belarusian poet. Named as a natural attraction for good reason: previously there was a house in which he lived the writer himself. In the postwar years, in its place was rebuilt a museum in which to this day are stored household items, photographs and numerous publications with autographs of the author.

In the central part of the park there is a fountain, recreating the traditions of the ancient pagan holiday "Ivan Kupala": young girls are guessing at the groom, putting wreaths of herbs into the water.
