Menu diet with kidney stones

Based on the type of concrements in the kidneys, the following types of therapeutic nutrition are recommended for patients:

  1. In the menu diet with oxalate stones in the kidney should not include any products that are naturally enriched with oxalic acid. This applies more to plants such as sorrel, spinach and rhubarb, as well as any dishes prepared with the addition of these herbs. In addition, this substance is contained in coffee, cocoa and black tea, so it is better to refuse these drinks, giving your preference to white or green tea. For the same reason, patients should not be too hard on beets and dishes made from this root, as well as oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits. The daily menu in the presence of oxalate concretions should consist of cereals, fresh and thermally processed vegetables, dairy products, boiled meat and seafood.
  2. With urate stones in the kidney alkalinizing diet is used, the main part of the menu is fresh or stewed vegetables and fruits. The source of protein for patients with such a disease should be dairy products, with the exception of cheese, as well as a variety of seafood - oysters, squid, shrimp and so on. Fish, meat, offal and eggs should be categorically excluded from the diet or at least dramatically reduced their consumption.
  3. Phosphates, in contrast to other types of concrements, need "acidification". The diet menu for phosphate stones in the kidneys is developed by the doctor for each individual patient, taking into account the size and quantity of concrements, as well as the general condition of the sick person and the presence of accompanying ailments. As a rule, milk and fermented milk products are excluded, as well as most of the food of plant origin.
