What kind of grass can be given to hamsters?

It would seem that hamsters are ordinary rodents, and there is no need for a special approach to their nutrition. Mice, the same ordinary rodents, eat anything: from seeds and grain to paper and wire insulation. However, in order for your hamster to live a long and healthy life, it is not worth it to feed it, and it is better to develop a diet of hamsters, following our instructions.

The basis of the diet

The food of Djungar hamsters does not differ in any way from that of Syrian hamsters . The basis of the diet should ideally be the store feed - a mixture of cereals and legumes with nuts and herbs. In such a feed, the ratio of the ingredients is well balanced.

You can feed the hamster individually, with cereals, beans, nuts, seeds. Seeds can be given pumpkin, sunflower, melon and sesame. From nuts - hazelnuts, walnuts, peanuts (in raw form). You can not feed almonds and kernels of cherry and apricot kernels - they contain too much for the hamster dose of hydrocyanic acid. Cereals suit any, both in raw and cooked form (without salt). We need a hamster and protein of animal origin, as well as vitamin-mineral complexes.

Green food

In the diet of your pet must necessarily include grass for hamsters. A hamster may not eat it, but it will build a nest of it.

From vegetables give a pumpkin, zucchini, carrots, cucumbers, green peas in pods, turnips, beets. Onions, garlic, potatoes and cabbage for a hamster are prohibited.

Fruits hamster pampered occasionally and little by little. You can feed pears, grapes, apples, bananas, peaches. You can not give citrus and other exotic fruits, as well as watermelon.
