Strawberry bushes "Mashenka" are quite large growth, but it has a neat compact shape. The first crops are affected by giant sizes of berries (up to 100 grams), but then the berries become smaller and their average weight is about 20-40 grams.
Berries "Mashenki" have a pleasant sweet taste and delicate firm flesh, which is their undoubted advantage. Thanks to this, they easily transport transportation and are stored for a long time. Of the minuses of this brand is worth noting the low resistance to frost and sunburn.
Strawberry "Mashenka" - planting and care
The agrotechnics of the garden strawberry "Mashenka" has its own characteristics:
- To plant "Mashenka" in the open ground should be started either in August or at the end of May, choosing for this straight or located at a slight angle fertile areas. Two weeks before planting, the soil in the selected area is cleaned of weeds and pests, dig over and fertilize it.
- In the future, "Mashenka" should be fed three times per season: at the end of March, at the end of April and before flowering. During fruiting, no additional feeding is necessary.
- Strawberry "Mashenka" is very demanding to the level of soil moisture, therefore it needs regular abundant watering. Sprinkle strawberry beds best in the early morning, when the sun is not yet so hot.
- Need this variety in regular hills, so denuding his root neck can lead to the fact that it starts pests and the plant will die.
