Traffic in the ears

In the human ear there are about two thousand sulfuric glands, which produce about 20 mg of earwax per month. This sulfur is designed to protect the tympanic membrane. In a normal situation, it withers and, in the process of chewing itself, is removed from the ear canal. However, if due to any factors ( metabolic disorders , inflammatory diseases of the external auditory canal, increased peeling of the epidermis), the normal process of sulfur withdrawal is disturbed, it accumulates, forming corks in the ears.

The causes of the appearance of sulfur plugs in the ears

  1. Disruption of the glands producing sulfur. In this case, the auricle just does not have time to clean itself, and sulfur accumulates, forming a cork.
  2. The structure of the auricle. Certain types of auricles are more prone to the appearance of such plugs. In this case, to prevent the appearance of sulfur plugs, it is recommended to wash the ears once a month with warm water. Rinsing is carried out with a syringe or syringe.
  3. Use cotton wool to clean the ears. It is one of the most common reasons, because when using cotton swabs for care not only behind the external ear canal, sulfur is rammed, eventually forming a cork.

How to clear the ears of traffic jams?

As a rule, sulfur fuses remain unnoticed and do not create discomfort, until they occupy more than 70% of the ear canal, after which there may be a decrease in hearing. Also, the sulfur plug can manifest itself during bathing, when the sulfur swells and blocks the ear canal. Usually the only symptom of congestion in the ears is hearing loss, but, in rare cases, physical discomfort and headaches may occur.

The tube can be removed by an ENT doctor, but you can remove the corks from your ears and yourself, especially if they are relatively "fresh." Consider how you can clean your ears from traffic jams and do not harm yourself:

  1. In no case should you try to get the cork from your ear by mechanical means, such as cotton swabs, toothpicks, tweezers, etc. So you can only push the cork deeper, and in addition damage the skin and even the tympanic membrane.
  2. If the plug fits in your ear, you can try to wash it with a stream of warm water. If the cork was not washed, a warm soda solution was poured into the ear (1 teaspoon per 50 ml of water). Bury it 3-4 times a day, for 4-5 drops. It may take several days for the plug to crumble and the ear can be washed from it.
  3. From congestion in the ears you can use hydrogen peroxide. In the ear, a 3% solution is instilled, at first in a larger quantity, putting the head so that the peroxide does not flow. After a few minutes, you need to press sharply just above the lobes to push out the cork. If the cork is old and dry, then to soften it, you may need to dig in 3-4 drops peroxide, several times a day at for several days.
  4. A good help is also a special remedy for caps in the ears, based on carbamide peroxide, which are capable of dissolving sulfur. These are such drugs as "Debroks", "Auro", "E-Z-0", etc. The period of use of such ear drops should not exceed five days.
  5. Cork can be tried to pull out of the ear with a hot water bottle, previously applying drops to soften it. The patient's ear is placed on a hot water bottle, sulfur is softened by heat and is removed from the ear canal.

If you can not remove the cork yourself, or when you try to remove the cork, you have pain, you should consult a doctor, for professional help.
