Kurantil - a drug in the form of tablets, which has vasodilating and anticoagulant effects. Used for the prevention of thrombosis and the treatment of circulatory disorders.
Composition of tablets Kurantil
The curantil is available in the form of film-coated tablets or dragees of a greenish-yellow color, in two dosages. One Curantil tablet contains 25 or 75 mg of active ingredient (dipyridamole). As auxiliary substances are used:
- corn starch;
- gelatin;
- magnesium stearate;
- sodium carbonate;
- lactose monohydrate.
Indications and contraindications for the use of tablets Curantil
The main active substance of Courantil is dipyridamole. This substance affects the production of platelets in the body, reducing their production, and thus contributing to the dilution of blood, reducing its folding. In addition, the drug has an angioprotective effect:
- improves blood microcirculation;
- reduces the permeability of the walls of blood vessels;
- normalizes the metabolic processes taking place in them.
The drug is used for:
- treatment and prevention of circulatory disorders of the brain ischemic type;
- treatment of cerebral blood supply insufficiency (dyscirculatory encephalopathy);
- prevention of coronary heart disease, especially in cases of intolerance to aspirin;
- prevention of thromboembolism after prosthetic heart valves;
- prevention of thrombosis and treatment of complications caused by them;
- as part of complex therapy in the treatment of blood circulation disorders in small vessels.
In addition, the Curetil tablets stimulate the production of interferon and, correspondingly, the increase in the nonspecific resistance of the organism to viral infections, which is why it is often used in the treatment and prevention of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza (in a dosage of 25 to 50 mg per day).
Curantil is contraindicated in:
- heart attack;
- unstable angina;
- heart rhythm disturbances;
- renal and hepatic insufficiency;
- chronic lung diseases;
- severe hypertension;
- reduced blood clotting;
- tendency to bleeding;
- lactose intolerance.
Method and dosage of tablets Kuratntil
For prophylaxis of thrombosis and with angina pectoris, take 1 tablet (25 mg) 3 times a day. With coronary heart disease, the recommended dose of the drug is 75 mg per dose, also 3 times a day. The maximum one-time dose of the drug is 150 mg. The course of admission can last from several weeks to several months.
For the prevention of viral infections, usually 50 mg of the drug is taken once a day for a week.
