The cleanest country in the world

For a long time, humankind was only consuming the world around it, taking possession of a thousand and taking one from nature as much as possible, taking little care of the harm that it does. Times are changing for the better, and today the issue of environmental safety of enterprises and products is beginning to play a decisive role. Many of us are ready to give much to make our life cleaner in the ecological sense: they buy special air and water purifiers, eat foods grown in ecologically clean areas, minimize the number of household appliances and even change their place of residence. That is why in this article we will talk about what country can be called the most environmentally friendly in the world.

Ecological rating of the countries of the world

In order to objectively assess the level of environmental cleanness of any state, the world's leading universities (Columbia and Yale) have developed a special methodology that includes more than 25 criteria. After researching the world's states in this method, scientists determined the rating of the most environmentally friendly countries in the world.

  1. The first leading position with a score of 95.5 points out of a hundred is surely taken by Switzerland . It is Switzerland that should be chosen as a place of residence for all those who want to live life in the cleanest and at the same time economically developed corner of the planet. Along with the high percentage of GDP per capita, Switzerland is characterized by excellent indicators of clean air and water, a huge number of protected areas. According to official sources, it is Switzerland that is subject to the most acute climate changes that arise due to the melting of glaciers. The issue of preserving the environment here is a concern not only of the government, but of every local resident. For example, hot springs are used as a source of heat for heating homes, and many hotels provide discounts for their guests using hybrid transport. And therefore the title of the cleanest country in the world belongs to Switzerland.
  2. On the second position in the ranking of the most environmentally friendly countries in the world, Norway is located, which can boast of excellent natural conditions that give its inhabitants the opportunity to enjoy beautiful scenery and breathe fresh air. But not only the gifts of nature allow Norway to occupy the second place in the rating. A great merit in this and the local government, which a hundred years ago passed a law on nature protection. Thanks to this law and the active introduction of environmentally friendly transport, harmful emissions into the atmosphere in Norway have decreased by more than 40%.
  3. The top three in terms of environmental cleanliness is Sweden , about half of which is covered by forests. The Swedish government takes care of nature, seeking to reduce the harmful impact of production and fuel industry on it to a minimum. So, in the plans of Sweden for the next 10 years the transfer of the whole residential complex to free fuel heating is indicated. This means that all houses will be heated using environmentally friendly energy sources, such as the energy of the sun, water or wind.

This is the top three countries in the world ecological cleanliness rating. Unfortunately, neither Ukraine nor Russia can boast of high achievements in the field of struggle for the cleanliness of the environment. Their indicators are more than modest: Ukraine is 102nd, and Russia is 106th in the rating. And such a result is more than logical, in fact, along with the eternal shortage of funding and the imperfection of laws, there is also a lack of respect for the surrounding nature. Unfortunately, the younger generation is not elementary in accustoming to clean up garbage, use environmentally friendly packing materials and protect green spaces. That is why each of us must begin the struggle for the preservation of the surrounding nature from ourselves, because even every piece of paper thrown in the urn or a cigarette butt makes the world around us cleaner.
