Sidewalk tiles with their own hands

Sooner or later, every man decides to make something in the house with his own hands. In the issue of finishing the plot in front of the house, laying paving slabs for giving by own hands becomes a real challenge. But there is nothing impossible for a person who wants to learn new things. Below we consider two options at once, how to lay the paving slab with your own hands.

Sidewalk tile for tracks with own hands

First we will consider the dry method, how to lay the paving slab with your own hands. It is used for laying small elements of brick type. It is suitable for work with their own hands with a colored paving slab, which is used to design pedestrian paths.

  1. First we prepare the field for work. Tear out a section of about 75 mm deep, so that after laying the track is level with the rest of the surface.
  2. Next, we pour the substrate. As a substrate, we use sand or fine fines. For its distribution we take the level and a small wooden board. The board is drawn over the surface to obtain a uniform substrate. Pre-installed curbs.
  3. To lay the sidewalk tiles with your own hands on a small patch, we will first arrange the frame. We pull out the substrate: on the outer edge it should protrude by 75 mm, on the inner edge - by 25 mm. The substrate consists of concrete.
  4. When the substrate solidifies, proceed to the construction of the formwork. Mix three parts of sand with one part of cement. We put the frame and let it dry for three days.
  5. Next, we begin to fill the inside: set the levels of the beacon from the boards, then we fill the sand and start distributing it with the help of the third board.
  6. Then we remove the beacons and carefully fill the voids with sand.
  7. Then follows the stage of laying paving slabs with your own hands at home on a ready-made field.
  8. Using a special machine, we press the tile into a sandy substrate. Instead of the machine it is acceptable to use wooden slats and a rubber hammer.

There is also a second variant of laying, when the tile does not need to be pressed into the sand, but to rub the seams according to the type of the floor finish with tiles.

  1. First of all, we prepare all necessary equipment and materials. We do not need anything specific here, all the tools are for sure in every house.
  2. Next, we prepare a place for laying. To do this, we tear out the pad, its depth must be at least two brick thicknesses. First we insert the pegs and pull the thread to outline the perimeter of the work. Then dig up and pour the substrate out of a fine rash or sand. Pour the layer so that it remains 75 mm to the top edge.
  3. Now we will prepare a solution of six parts of cement and one part of sand. The mortar layer must be at least 25 mm. Remember that the mixture stiffens quite quickly, so cook it in parts. We will stack and press each tile, tap it with a rubber hammer, then check its level. We let the masonry dry for at least 24 hours.
  4. We choose dry weather and begin work with seams. First we clean the masonry well, wash it with water a little. Mix one part sand and four parts cement, the mixture should be wet, but not wet. Try to fill the seams quickly, then brush off all unnecessary until the mixture has stuck to the tile.
  5. At this process of laying paving slabs with their own hands at home is completed.

Both options are quite capable of mastering any master. Sometimes to learn such a thing means to save a significant part of the family budget.
