Unusual costumes for the holidays are something that our children love so much. In this master class we will tell you how to make a child 's carnival costume for a girl, which will be very bright and unusual.
Instructions for working on wings
The costume will consist of two parts: wings and masks. Let's start with the wings and start to prepare the materials:
- monophonic tissue is the basis, pleasant to the touch, which will touch the body of the child;
- Soft bands for strings, the color of which should be in harmony with the rest of the fabric;
- many bright patches and pieces for feathers;
- Threads in the tone of the selected fabric.
We proceed.
- Let's not worry about the bird's costume for a long time and just draw two wings on the fabric-base, and then cut them out. Size choose yourself, for a child about 3 years, the height of the wings should be about 35 cm, and the width should be counted on the shoulders. If necessary, then after all cut out, sweep the edges.
- Now, out of bright pieces we cut feathers 5 cm high. To avoid sitting too long over them, we suggest cutting out feathers at once, only the width and their number you have to calculate by yourself, applying blanks to the base.
- When everything is ready, you can proceed to sewing. To do this, we put feathers on the wings' blanks, starting from the lower ones, and sew them.
- Not reaching the top several rows, to the top of the wings we sew a tape that will connect the entire model. As you can already guess, the length of the tape is also best measured on the child, thereby controlling the freedom of his movements.
- We finish filling the wings with feathers and sew beautiful ribbons that will hold the costume on the child. Tapes must be sewn for the hands and neck.
Instructions for working on the mask
We collect materials for the mask:
- A piece of felt that matches the color of the wings;
- scraps of felt bright colors;
- Round or wide elastic band of the right color;
- thread.
Let's move on to work.
- Measuring the child, we make a sketch of a mask and a spout on the fabric.
- Cut out in two copies of the mask and one spout.
- Cut off the necessary length of gum. If you use a wide one, then just lay it between the layers of the mask, if it's round, then make a loop at the end and tie it with a knot.
- In addition to the rubber band, you also need to place inside the tip of the nose, which will fix after you have masked.
- When everything is decomposed, you can go to sewing.
- Almost everything, now it remains only to decorate the mask with colored feathers and you can gather for carnival.
