Paint for wood floor

Nowadays, there are many types of floor coverings for residential and non-residential premises. At the same time, the standard wooden floors were and remain the ageless classics . Modern floors made of natural wood have a nice design, they are easy to use and durable enough. However, for a long and high-quality service, they must be processed. The main types of coatings of wooden floors include varnishes, paints, primers and impregnations. Let's find out which paint is better to paint the wood floor.

The best paint for a wooden floor

When choosing this paint, first of all, you should focus on the type of wood, the features of operation in this room (humidity level, wear rate), compatibility of materials with the previous floor covering and the possibility of re-application. There are many kinds of paints for wood , but all of them can be divided into three large groups.

  1. Transparent (this, in fact, lacquers, impregnations and glazes) - they protect the tree from mechanical stress and ultraviolet rays, and also emphasize the natural structure of the tree. The floor, treated with a transparent coating, acquires a beautiful luster.
  2. Opaque (enamel). This type of coating has been used for a long time and differs in its relatively low price. Enamels are simple and convenient to use: when painted on the surface an opaque film is formed. This paint for the wooden floor is the fastest-drying of all. It does not penetrate deep into the tree as it does with varnish, and therefore is not particularly durable. To cheaper types of opaque paints are alkyd and vinyl chloride, and polyurethane and acrylic enamels are more modern and resistant. Enamels are often used for such rooms in which there is increased humidity.
  3. Acrylic dispersion paints for wood flooring - the most modern, high-quality and wear-resistant material. Floors covered with dispersion paint, acquire unique properties - the strength of the protective coating, vapor permeability (unlike all other types of paints they "breathe") and frost resistance.

Removal of paint from the wooden floor is carried out with the help of special solvents, corresponding to the type of paint, or mechanical and thermal methods.
