One-piece crown

One-piece crown is a metal prosthesis, which is made of cobalt and chromium alloy by the method of solid casting. Today, a cast crown is often used for prosthetics , since it does not require the manufacture of bridges, so the patient has the opportunity to refuse the connection of the crowns into one design.

Types of crowns

The popularity of solid crowns led to the development of this type of prosthesis, so each patient is asked to choose one of four types of crowns:

They differ only in appearance, so the question of choosing the type of crown is purely aesthetic. So, a cast-crown with a sputtering is a "golden teeth", without spraying - an imitation of polished metal, and when facing a ceramic or plastic is applied, which makes the color of the teeth natural. A feature of the combined bridge is that the crowns that fall under the smile line (from 5 to 7 teeth) are made of cermets, and the rest are solid-cast metal crowns.

Dissection under cast-crown

A long process of denture replacement with solid crowns involves the preparation or turning of teeth under the crown. There are several methods:

  1. Ultrasound preparation. It is absolutely painless method, and also does not form chips on the walls of the pin.
  2. Thinning by laser. The use of a laser during turning is the safest method, since there is no risk of infection. In addition, the equipment used in the operation is absolutely noiseless.
  3. Tunnel preparation. It allows you to save the largest amount of hard tooth tissue, while using bad equipment or improper technology can adversely affect the tooth in the future, that is, destroy it.

In addition to the advantages and disadvantages that all three methods have, they also differ in price, so each patient has the right to choose exactly the kind of manipulation that most suits him.
