Essential oil of myrrh is produced by steam distillation of resin, which occurs when the exudate cools in air, flowing from the damaged tree trunk of the genus Commiphora. Myrrh oil is of two types - heparol and bisabol, or bitter and sweet, depending on the trees whose resin is used.
Properties of essential oil of myrrh
