Jamie Oliver will have to reduce the number of restaurants due to loss of profits

Unfortunately, we have to admit that not all the positive initiatives of the popular British chef Jamie Oliver are successful and profitable. It became known that the chef will need to close one third of his restaurants Jamie's Italian network throughout the UK. The reason for closing public catering establishments that specialize in Italian cuisine is quite simple - losses!

"Naked chef" owes his employees, creditors and suppliers a tidy sum - it's 71, 5 million pounds sterling.

Causes of problems in business

The amount of losses successful at first sight restaurateur is simply amazing, is not it? What could have provoked such a negative development of Jamie Oliver's business? Recall that last year, the authoritative chef announced a significant expansion of its network of institutions around the world, but the plans remained only on paper.

It all happened the other way round: one restaurant in Istanbul and six points in the UK were closed. To date, 450 employees of Oliver are expecting to be dismissed.

There are only 23 Jamie's Italian restaurants in England, but they are also forced to look for an opportunity to reduce their rent. What happens to the remaining 28 institutions located outside the UK, is still unknown. Here is how Mr. Oliver himself commented on this situation:

"We are trying to ensure that our restaurants fit into modern commercial reality. We have a business scheme, and we are sure that it will help us to organize favorable conditions for profit and project development. "

Jamie Oliver is sure that, not least in the failure of his business, Brexit is to blame. In addition, he believes that he incorrectly picked up business partners from among his friends. Another restaurateur suggested that customers are less likely to come to his restaurants because of a general drop in incomes in the country.

It's not the first year in the network there have been negative reviews on the service in Jamie's Italian. And this provoked an outflow of customers, which cost Oliver a large sum - 13 million pounds sterling losses.
