Insulated linoleum

There are many kinds of linoleum on sale. Depending on the field of application, it can be household, semi-commercial and commercial. It also differs in many other parameters. In addition, in its structure, it can be baseless, on a fabric, felt or foamed basis.

Insulated linoleum is used for warming the floor, which is quite logical. It can have a warm base or a heater. The difference between them in the structure of the canvas and in performance characteristics.

Insulated household linoleum

The so-called warm linoleum on the basis of jute or felt is laid exclusively in dry rooms. Such material is more accessible and easy to install. It consists of two layers: the base and the working surface. Linoleum is warm, light, soft, fit on or without glue.

There are, however, several shortcomings. Among them is that the top layer is not strong enough, so you need to handle it carefully. In addition, with intensive operation, the heat-insulating layer can quickly become thinner and its functionality will be lost.

In addition, because of the use of jute and felt as a base, it is not recommended to lay this linoleum in rooms with high humidity. Under it, fungus and mold can form over time.

Linoleum on insulated basis

This kind of linoleum is more resistant to moisture. It consists of 6 layers, each of which fulfills its specific role. It is based on foam rubber, which makes the coating elastic and resistant to various loads.

The second layer is fiberglass. It guarantees the strength and integrity of the canvas. Above this layer is foam PVC, then - a decorative layer with a pattern, which is protected by the working layer.

Due to this multi-layer structure, the coating acquires heat and sound insulation properties, and also becomes stable even to high mechanical loads.
