Name at least one person who does not like soft fluffy pompoms. And what if you make a carpet of pompoms? All you need is yarn, thread and scissors. Learning to make these balls from yarn, you can show imagination, thinking through the drawing, and understand how to simply make a carpet of pompoms with your own hands.
Step-by-step instruction for creating a carpet from pompoms
- Connect the index and middle fingers, and, holding one end of the yarn with your thumb, start wrapping it around your fingers.
- Trim the yarn when you finish wrapping. For this master class, it took 75 turns of yarn. A little tip: no matter what size of the pompom you imagined originally, you will most likely need twice as many turns than you thought.
- Cut one more piece of yarn, stretch one end of it through your fingers between the wound pompon and palm. Pull the other end from the tip of your fingers.
- Make sure that your piece of yarn is wrapped around the entire pompon, as shown in the picture.
- Start tying, tighten as tight as you can, and then pull off the pompom from your fingers.
- Still tight pulling, finish tying pompon.
- Holding on to the ends of the yarn, which pulls the pompom, take the scissors and cut off all the loops.
- Make sure that after cutting the loop, the pompon looks like in the picture - in a nice woolen mess.
- While still clinging to the ends of the binding yarn, begin to trim your pom-pom. Most likely, to cut straight, you need to cut twice more than you expected, so be careful and do not destroy the created pompom to the end.
- Flatten the ends by keeping the scissors in the same plane with the pompon. Flash it a little in the hands, then check again to see if the individual pieces are knocked out.
- When the pompon is perfected, you can cut the pieces of yarn on which you held it, to the same size as the rest of its parts.
It remains only to connect the pompoms of different colors and create cozy fluffy wonders - carpets made of pompoms of various shapes and sizes.
