Childbirth is a long-awaited pregnancy resolution, as a result of which a woman becomes a mother and finally meets her baby. - mechanical obstructions (ovarian tumors, uterine myomas, as well as deformities of pelvic bones in the field of the birth canal, placenta previa, etc.);
- threat of rupture of the uterus (for example, in the case of an inconsistent suture after a previous cesarean section);
- premature placental abruption;
- transverse position of the fetus.
Relative indications for cesarean section include situations in which natural births are possible, but can cause serious traumatism for the mother and child, as well as threaten their lives. Among them are:
- a clinically narrow pelvis of a woman (discrepancy between the size of the fetal head and the size of the small pelvis of the woman giving birth);
- breech position of the fetus (pelvic presentation);
- presence of a scar on the uterus;
- maternal diseases, which can worsen as a result of independent birth (cardiovascular pathologies, stool diseases, high degree of myopia, etc.);
- too large fruit (more than 4 kg);
- prolonged anhydrous period (if more than 12 hours have elapsed since the passage of amniotic fluid);
- prolonged weak labor activity, in which there is no dynamics of cervical dilatation;
- hypoxia of the fetus (as evidenced by the slow heartbeat of the baby).
In what case do cesarean?
Indications for caesarean section are cases of a threat to the life and health of a woman and a child, when the expected benefit from the operation is significantly greater than the possible complications resulting from it, such as puncture of the uterine wall, infection, endometriosis, adhesions, drug-induced depression of the newborn and etc. That's why the caesarean section is done only according to the indications. No other circumstances should be the cause for this operation.
