How to sew a cap with your own hands?

Your child got the role of a brave sailor in a school setting? Or did he decide on the matinee to trump an unusual suit? Then you will have to puzzle over the search for the appropriate costume. If there are no problems with a white shirt, dark trousers and a collar, then it's not so easy to find a cap. But it is not necessary to ring up all the acquaintances and spend time on trips to the shops. In this master class you will learn how to sew a sea cap for a child with your own hands in just a few hours. Shall we proceed?

For a brave sailor

We will need:

  1. To make a pattern of cap for the sailor's suit, measure the child's head circumference. Put this value on the paper horizontally, this value, and vertically - 6-7 centimeters. The resulting rectangle will serve as a band for the cap. Then cut out the crown with the appropriate diameter. Transfer the patterns to the duplicate. You should get three details (band, crown, top).
  2. Wrap the duplar iron with an iron, glue it to the blue fabric, and tulle and top part to the white fabric. Cut out all the details, leaving on all sides 1-1.5 centimeters of fabric on the allowance.
  3. Bend the band in half, and then steadily strip it with an iron. The part should be dense. If the fabric is soft, you can use several layers, but note that it will be very difficult to sew. Tulle and the top part sweep or fasten with the help of pins, and then along the outer circumference of the cap, sew.
  4. In order for the capillary to hold its shape better, the edge along the circumference from the wrong side can be made serrated. Turn the product over to the front and iron.
  5. Chamfer around the edges of the thread, and on the inner circumference of the cap, make small incisions. Sweep the band to the site.
  6. Make sure that all the seams coincide, there are no folds, and you can stitch the product.
  7. Required element - ribbons on the cap, which are sewn to the band behind (from the wrong side). First pin them with pins, and then stitched around the perimeter so that the ribbons do not twist when the child wears this headdress.
  8. It remains to place an anchor on the band (optional), and a cap for your young sailor is ready! If you have a ribbon with the logos of the fleet, you can sew it to the front of the horn.

For the charming seaman

The sailor's suit may be needed for the girl. Women's cap is sewn even easier. A small cut of dark fabric and satin ribbons are needed. This headgear can be sewn and made of soft fabric, because it will keep the shape in any way.

First make a pattern for which you will need to know the circumference of the head and the height of the cap. Put 1/4 of the circumference on the paper horizontally, and 15-20 centimeters in height. Connect the lines to make a wedge. Cut out the pattern. Then transfer it to the fabric, cut out 4 wedges of dark fabric and sew them. If the fabric is too soft, cut out the lining details.

Then sew a band (see the description in points 1-3), having sewed on it a narrow ribbon of satin color.

Prikolite band to the cap, and then stitch. To the cape not fall off your head, sew on the sides of the string. Gently press into the inside of the cap, forming a groove around the circumference. The accessory for the sailor suit is ready.

With your own hands, it's easy to make other headgear, such as a cowboy hat or a pirate hat .
