In addition to traditional indoor flowers, on the windowsill you can also find fruit plants, such as lemon, pineapple , persimmon, pomegranate or avocado. Where to grow persimmons?

Persimmon is a tree, but it can be grown at home in a large tub (20-25 liters). You can do this in any climatic zone in a heated room. For this, a bone from any fruit you eat is suitable.

In the open ground planting persimmon is recommended in regions where the air temperature does not drop below -15 ° C in winter. In the garden area you can grow such varieties as "Rossiyanka", "Korolek", "Tamopan big", "Zenji Maru" (chocolate), "Bull's heart". Variety should be chosen depending on the typical weather and climate conditions in your area.

Reproduction of persimmons at home or at the dacha can be carried out by cuttings (grafting) or seeds. In the first case, this is a more labor-intensive process, but fructification occurs much earlier (for the 3rd year), and in the second, for the 6th-7th.

Care for persimmons at home

In order for your tree to develop well, it must create certain conditions:

  1. Location. Grow persimmon should be in a well-lit place, without drafts.
  2. Temperature regime. It is very important to withstand the autumn and winter rest period, at this time the plant should be at a temperature of + 5 to +10 ° C.
  3. Watering. During the growth period (spring-summer) persimmon requires regular moderate watering, the rest of the time requires little moisture (1 time in 2 weeks).
  4. Feeding. You can apply fertilizers only in spring and summer every 2 weeks, necessarily alternating organic and complex mineral.
  5. Transfer. It is carried out annually as the plant grows in the first 5 years of life in early spring. Later you can simply supplement the pot with nutrient ground.

Wherever you grow persimmons, you need to monitor the formation of its crown. Pruning branches is carried out on a sparse-tiered system.
