Focal scleroderma

Unlike the generalized form of this disease, focal or limited form of scleroderma is less dangerous and does not affect internal organs. Nevertheless, this pathology is capable of greatly altering the skin and leading to irreversible consequences.

Focal scleroderma - symptoms

With the described disease on the skin area, usually on the face or hands, a round or oval spot of pinkish-violet appears. Over time, the formation becomes lighter, starting from the center, and acquires a pale yellow color. The spot turns into a dense plaque made from a modified tissue, the skin in this area shines, hair falls out on it. As a result, the epidermis is completely replaced by a connective tissue without sebaceous and sweat glands.

What is dangerous is focal scleroderma

If you do not treat the disease, it can spread to large areas of the body and hit the skin of the abdomen, legs and thighs. Despite the fact that the course of scleroderma can last more than 20 years, without causing any discomfort, the consequences of the disease are very deplorable. Due to the atrophy of the sweat and sebaceous glands, the thermoregulation of the body and blood circulation are disrupted.

Scleroderma focal - prognosis

In most cases, the patient is fully recovered with adequate therapy. Moreover, the pathology sometimes disappears independently at correction of immunity.

Scleroderma focal - treatment with traditional methods

First of all, it is necessary to eliminate foci of skin lesions and prevent sclerosis of tissues. To do this, penicillin antibiotics , vasodilator drugs (angiotrophin, nicogipan, ksatino-lanicotinate) and agents for improving blood microcirculation are used. Focal scleroderma also responds well to thyroid hormones (thyroidin) and ovaries (estradiol), retinoids. In the process of therapy, the intake of vitamins of group B, E and ascorbic acid is recommended.

Focal scleroderma - treatment with folk remedies

Lotion for reducing the manifestations of the disease:

  1. Shredded licorice root (1 teaspoon) mixed with the same amount of ground cinnamon, dry herb wormwood and birch buds .
  2. Add 3 teaspoons of ground walnuts (unripe).
  3. The resulting mixture is insisted in a liter of 30% alcohol, heated in a water bath for 30-35 minutes.
  4. Cool, filter the solution, lubricate the stains formed once a day.

Onion compress:

  1. Bake medium bulb until soft.
  2. Finely chop, add 50 ml of homemade yogurt and 5 g of natural honey.
  3. Put the mixture on the area affected by scleroderma, leave for 20 minutes, then rinse the skin with water.
