In this article, we will look at a few examples of water experiments for preschool children, which you can try to do with your child, or in their example, to invent their ways of entertainment with the benefit of the mind.

Examples of experiments with water for preschoolers

  1. Choose a little ice cube with the baby, and let the child fill them with water and put them in the freezer. After a couple of hours, remove the mold and check the condition of the water. A kid who does not know anything about the freezing of water may not immediately guess what happened. To help him, put the molds on the kitchen table and observe how the ice under the influence of the warm air of the kitchen will turn into water again. After this, pour the melt water into a saucepan and see how it turns into steam. Now, relying on the knowledge gained, you can explain to the kid what fog and clouds are, why there is steam in the frost from the mouth, how rinks are made and many other interesting things.
  2. Experiments with water and salt will tell the baby about the solubility (insolubility) of various substances in the water. To do this, prepare several transparent glasses and a container with safe dry substances - sugar, salt, grains, sand, starch, etc. Allow the baby to mix it with water and observe what happens. To convince the child that the salt dissolved in water does not disappear anywhere, evaporate the salt water in a metal bowl or spoon - the water will dry out and the container will be covered with a layer of salt.
  3. Try to dissolve salt and sugar in water with different temperatures. Look, in what water will the salt dissolve faster - in ice, water at room temperature or in warm water? Make sure that the water in the glasses is not too hot (so that the crumb is not burned).
  4. Creation of "live" flowers from paper will teach the baby that when water gets wet it becomes heavier - it absorbs water. For this You will need several sheets of colored paper, scissors and a plate of water. Together with the child draw on the paper a contour of flowers - chamomile. Next, you need to cut them and twist the petals with scissors. Finished "buds" put in water and watch how they will blossom.
  5. In order to carry out the experience of water purification, prepare several filters - a tissue, paper and filter jug for drinking water. Prepare water, salt, chalk and sand. Mix everything and alternately filter the water through a cloth, paper and filter for drinking water. After each filtration, check the condition of the solution and note the changes.
